Intro First draft above ⌃ First draft in premiere pro The first draft of my documentary was sort of the intro to the whole series I wanted to use some old footage that I had found from Sunderland to (hopefully) show how views have changed since then. Since I couldn't find many news articles about LGBT communities in the northeast. I thought it was a good piece of history (although sad). I edited most of the footage in premiere pro, however the end piece of footage. I created outside on canva, so I could get the font that I wanted. My aim for this first footage was to shock people, into seeing the horrible views about LGBT people not even 40 years ago and highlight why sometimes, change is still needed even though we do have more rights now. Audience reaction Everyone likes the old video footage and newspaper articles that I had found, which I am glad they paid off.  It did what I wanted it to do, make people aware of outdated LGBT views.   January 2022 The first time I filmed for my project, I was filming interviews with students from Durham Sixth Form.  The Durham Sixth Form students are a part of the Pride society at their sixth form, I wanted to ask them about their experiences with being LGBT in the North East and if they have had any support from their sixth form. Before I was allowed to film with them, I had to set up permissions. However, when talking to their head of year, I found out I was unable to go into their sixth form so instead, I had to arrange for them to come to my college. I then had to get their permission forms, stating they were consenting to be filmed and used in my documentary. When setting up for the interviews, I wanted the lighting to be very brightly focused on the interviewee. I had switched off the main overhead lights of the studio a...

Evaluation The B2 Unit was a project to allow young practitioners to explore and develop a piece of media relating to the theme of 'who am I?' and regional identity. The unit can be broken into 4 sections, 'Research.' 'Pre-Production.' 'Production' and 'Post-production." This unit really opened my eyes to the pressures of big-scale projects and how to manage time. Research Client Research-Researching the client allowed me to understand what was needed out of this project. Sunderland Culture is all about celebrating the way the northeast culture is important, so I knew that this project would have to highlight something niche within the North East, something that should be more celebrated.  It's also clear that Sunderland culture likes to get its community involved in a lot of its projects, so I kept that in my mind when thinking about my own project. More Client Research Project Research-Now, I had to move on to the researching ideas for th...
